the laptop saga part II

Since none of you asked, I thought I’d tell you how that all turned out. Dell’s turnaround time on the laptop was really fast. They picked it up Monday and it returned on Thursday. I was frustrated, however, by the fact that they didn’t replace the hard drive (the only part that was ‘really’ damaged).

When I called Dell back, the lady said: “Oh, well the repair plant fixes everything but hard drives.” I was ticked. They KNEW that was the problem. I sat through all the pointless tests to even prove that was the problem. I told them it was to begin with…I do IT for a living, I’m not stupid (and no comments about dropping it to begin with please. :) )

The lady shipped out a new HD, and I was plesently surprised when it arrived the next day.

I was able to get all of Pastor’s stuff off of the old drive. I was pretty lucky there.

I got everything repaired and happy just in time for his trip this week. I must say, I he’s been pretty big about the trial. I would have been really mad. He even still lets me push all the buttons… with a certain level of grief attached. :)
