ICC day 1
What an amazing day at the ICC. I’m beyond pumped about the things I’ve seen and heard. With the IT roundtable I’ve been able to see so much more behind the scenes stuff. I have to say it’s even more encouraging for me to see that NMCC is on the right path. We are doing a lot of the same stuff! This week I celebrate my 1 year mark at NMCC. The growth of the media and IT ministry over the past year overwhelms me.
When I started, there were two volunteers. Now, I lead a team of eight. One volunteer bowed out early. She was burnt out and her heart was moving toward other ministries. So 7 of those 8 are new, on fire, we get it volunteers that I love doing ministry with. Our media, in the beginning, was very conservative, safe, and limited. Now, we’ve streamlined the process for distraction free worship. Pastor Bob is constantly improving his delivery. We are also trying very hard to implement as much relevant media as possible. We want people to get it!
The ICC in the past has always made me say “We have to do that!” This year things are different. I ask deeper questions now. Today, I find myself asking “What would that look like for us if we wanted to communicate that to our audience?” Then Rob gets up and speaks on that so my thought seems much less profound.
But I promise I was thinking it prior.
Another HUGE thing for NMCC is our first ever custom made video was shown at the Film Festival. My jaw was on the floor as our first attempt at video making caught the attention of Jeff. We have learned and grown so much from that first try. I can’t wait for next year. Maybe we can get a most improved award! Nonetheless, Henry and Collin back home are gonna love this story. If you were at the festival and wondering which one was ours, it was the basketball video promoting our push into phase II of a building plan.
Still one more day left to go then it’s a long drive home.
